Maxie and Archie meet as teenagers, the two rejects of the Mauville Trainer's school. As their bond grows, they help each other to reach new heights in Pokémon battling and contests, and soon gain a name for themselves. However, people then begin to pit them against each other as rivals, which is the last thing they want, but they have no choice. As their ideals grow further and further apart, will they be able to maintain their friendship, or act upon their growing romance, or will they forever be apart?
