It's already difficult calling him every night, but seeing him in person for days on end would be torture. His feelings were too strong. He couldn't risk Dream finding out he liked him.. Ghosting / DNF
Just before Dream and George were about to get married, something unexpected happened: George died and is now a ghost, unable to be seen by a single soul. This is horrible.
