In 1885, Leopold II of Belgium was able to procure the Congo Free State by convincing the European community at the Berlin Conference that he was to aid the natives, helping them to flourish and become civilized. However, once away from Europe's watchful eye, Leopold went mad, forcing the natives into slave labor. Leopold is remembered as infamous for his cruelty and inhumanness towards the people he vowed to save during these dark times.
This is the story of Nala, a young girl who lived a normal, happy life in Congo. Of course, this was before the Belgians came to wreak havoc in her native land. Now, Nala has to suffer through unspeakable agony in order to hang onto life. Seeing her friends and family go though brutal mutilations and whippings is enough to drive anyone mad, let alone a girl of her age. Luckily for her, one of the soldiers has taken a liking to her, so she herself is devoid of any physical pain. Psychological torture, however, is something she cannot escape.

This story is inspired by ancient China and doesn't have a specific time period it plays out in (remember that it's a fantasy world and not meant to be 100% history accurate, it's a world I made not a documentary lol) and all characters are my own and I do not allow for them to be used (fanart or fanfics are okay as long as you give credit!), I cannot say more than that without spoiling everything! but if you enjoy reading Danmei you will surely love this! "Do you have trouble speaking? I'll help you talk my love, there must be something stuck in your throat?" He said shoving the gun deeper, by now the base of his pistol was pressed down against my lips as I choked loudly. I screamed and jumped in fright as he pulled the trigger. Nothing, No bullets were fired. The force of the gun shook my whole body. I gargled and shook my head no repeatedly, but he wasn't satisfied. he squeezed my throat and completely blocked my airway.
