Everyone at Watercress High knows Allison Rosen. Well, not personally. But they've all heard the rumors. 'I heard she's so quiet because her mom cut out her tongue as a sacrifice to Satan', 'I saw her making out with the principal yesterday. That must be why she makes straight A's!'
Neither of these rumors were true, of course. But people believed them anyways. Even the stupid one about satan.
As quiet as Allison already was, she started to get gradually quieter. At first, she began to ignore the people that called her a freak. Then she ignored her teachers. Then her friends.
Two years later, her junior year, her dog, Kitty is her best friend and she still doesn't say a word. Now prom is around the corner and Allison isn't very hopeful for a date. But little did she know that there was a certain boy eyeing her in class. One that, despite others' warnings, didn't believe in rumors.
