Maisie Dixon, a nine-almost-ten year old girl with a heart bigger than she can handle, is trying to navigate a new and strange world with a bunch of strangers. She was no stranger to the ugliness of the world before, but this new world seemed to leave her with a sense of dread looming over her like an umbrella shielding her from the rain.
Her father, Daryl, was a fighter, claiming to be unafraid. Unafraid of death, of disease, of fighting, but deep down, he wasn't as fearless as he claimed to be. There was a constant fear which plagued his mind - losing. He lost his father, and after the loss of his brother, he knew that he could never lose his little girl.

Update schedule varies. I'm in high school, so I get busy between school and the work that comes with it, along with personal issues and my social life. Sometimes I don't have the motivation to write or I get writer's block, so bear with me on that. Thank you all for reading, and be sure to check out my other stories!
