The Flaming Heart follows Odelina, who is a pixie, as she is kicked out of the Ezzarith, the pixies' land and taken in by the aen laite, humans who have a connection with dragons and are the pixies' enemy. Odelina has odd wings and has been ostracized by the pixies for it. Her mother was taken away when she was a year old and she never knew her father. Odelina falls in love with the general of the aen laite, Zefira.
