A young boy around the age of 17 regularly visits his severely sick mother in the hospital, which lays apon her death bed.
This story is about him trying to get through the rest of high school as he battles depression and tries to not loose sight of who he is and what he wants to do, and also not loose hope that his mother will get better.




This story may be emotional (if I can write with well enough, in a good way.) 

If you are easily triggered please refrain your self.
Also if you're to young/not allowed for mature content.
Will most likely come across:
Cutting/suicide mentioning, alcohol/drug use, sexual references, swearing, homosexuality may appear as well.

This story has stupidity, student suffering, and suppressed emotions. It follows Lachlan Mills, a 17 year old boy, as he struggles with his last year of high school, expectations, sports (mainly AFL), friendships, feelings, and a whole lot of idiocy. This is set in Australia so I'll defo put glossaries at the end of each chapter in case you don't know what something means. There's a lot of bad language in this, it's pretty realistic for Aussie high schools though so sorry in advance. There are some serious themes like mental health, but a solid amount of humour too. Here I am a 14 year old boy that lives in a shelter home. Mom says one day we'll get out. But I've lost all hope. And I know my mom has no hope either. If she did I wouldn't have to hear her cry herself to sleep at night. I hate seeing her in so much pain. I wish, I could get a job. Maybe since I'm younger and a boy they'll hire me. Who am I kidding? My mom's in her 30's she's not old either. Sometimes the idiots that run this place kick my mom out for the night because she's making too much noise after hours. My mom was crying; is that too hard to understand? I hate this place. Well, tomorrow's our first day apart since summer started. They're forcing me to go to high school. I'm okay with school but I don't want to leave my mom alone in this world. Well, I guess there's a better chance of me getting a job if I'm in high school. You know there's one thing I remember my mom telling me when I was young. "Never frown; you never know who's falling in love with your smile." Words to live by. Let's hope they help me tomorrow.

Based off of the short story I wrote called Bloody Sympathy. Holds similarities but a lot of it is changed or made more subtle since that was old writing and I find the intense sudden angst very cringe worthy but people wanted a full story and I like the original path the story was taking so i'm trying it out. Taekwoon lost his Mother at 15. His Father became distant and he took to school. He put all of his pain into studying and getting the grades he knew his Mother would have wanted him to have. Fighting his way to the top of the class Taekwoon graduated High School with a full paid scholarship to multiple universities. Taekwoon knew he wanted to be a doctor and saves lives. The issue was, he was terrified of needles. What is to come when he is the only one who can save a woman's life but has to face his fear to do so?
