This story can speak to us today. We can't let greed, industrialism, and the simplest details of life dictate our personal, cultural, and national lives. We can live without these industrial standards if we want to hard enough. Don't let shiny objects be an obsession. It is never what we have or do that is the issue, but it could be how we live our own lives. Never live in our comfort zones. It will always destroy you in the end.
