A wise man once said that fate is not something that will happen, it’s something that’s happening. If you chase your fate, search for it, run off into the blue trying to see what lay ahead. You’re just a dog chasing your tail. You’ll never catch it. Vienna Castillion, or Aglaeca, is a wandering ranger. Part dwarf, part wizard, and part shifter, she copes with the ridicule of the world. being called 'monster' and 'mistake' are the usual. But there was a day when her whole life was turned upside down. A day where she learned not to chase her fate, but to embrace it… I don't own the hobbit characters!!!

In an apocalyptic world walking at the edge of destruction, a blessing... or a curse is given to the last living mortal among the despairing children of the sky, the chance to live again. But his journey isn't one of reclaiming what was lost, nor is his story one where he gains power beyond what he had. His story isn't one where he will be happy, and yet it isn't one where he can be sad. Nothing is lost and yet everything is... After all he is but a mere shadow, a shadow of the past. What can a shadow do but try to cut itself apart to change the future? Participant in the June 2025 royal road magazine awards. This story has been completed and is ready to read from the start to the end.
