Scratch that- she just hated everything now.

Summer was actually her favorite. The salty air, the fair food, surfing, the crisp mornings, the scratchy seashells. Everything about summer read James. Unfortunately all of that faded into the back of her mind as her childhood blurred by too quickly and suddenly she was a teenager whose innocence was taken from her too soon...

When James's father decides to bring them back to Cousins Beach for the first time since she was a child, and can't even remember their time there, everything changes. Her father noticed his little girl has become different, moody, started lashing out. So, he thought going back to his roots would heal the strain that's began to form between them.

And what James believes is a summer vacation and an escape from her shitty life and boyfriend... turns into so much more than visiting her dad's hometown and childhood friends. She falls in love with the sand, the people, the comforting feeling of home, the beach house, and maybe even the self-torturing asshole who can't seem to get enough of her, and keeps coming back for more.

They know they shouldn't, they know they're bad for each other, and they know that this won't end well. But you know what they say, once you start, you can't seem to stop. Even if everyone else wants you to. And they know they're both in for one hell of a summer...
