On the continent of Ro, all people are born with the soul of an animal attached to their own. For most, this fact doesn't affect their lives. For some they can be a source of power and even prestige, but there are those born with exceptionally rare, powerful, and terrifying soul creatures. King Eury of Eternia has seen to it, through the use of Soulcallers, that anyone with a soul creature deemed too dangerous is killed for the safety of the kingdom and the continent as a whole. this practice was eventually adopted by almost the entirety of Ro. This was the fate of Zane yet against all odds he managed to survive to near adulthood. With his mother gone, his father kowtowing to his step mothers every whim, Zane must leave the only home he's ever known. He must venture forth to learn to control his soul creature, find out why King Eury has given all those like Zane the death penalty and change how society views them.

A guy named Trent who was the cliched bad boy and ironically Keenia, as the innocent good girl. Ayra can't stand the nagging thought that the same thing would happen to Keenia. The same thing that happened to Grace, her only older sister. The way they thought they were falling in love, but was just thinking that they were in love, the exotic idea of it. Ayra will do everything in her power to keep love from interfering in their lives ever again. Because this time she knows, that she won't be able to forget or forgive, if one more person she cares about falls helplessly in love. Because after, it's nothing but heartbreak. Love can be so cruel.

It also doesn't help when their helicopter suddenly malfunctions and the group ends up crash-landing in the middle of a dense jungle with no way of contacting the outside world for help. and to make things worse for poor Lyra, something seems to be stalking her in this new and unfamiliar environment. It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.
