"Do you always look at people that way?" I bounced off a little, startled at the sudden deep, feminine voice, ruining the silence penetrating in my mind. I looked up to face the person, only to be greeted again with the same blue eyes that looked at me earlier, like she knew me more than anyone else. Suddenly, my heart began pounding.

"Uh, excuse me? I might have missed your point?" I replied, still looking at her. A smirk showed off her face, and for a moment, I took the time to observe her face closely. The blonde was beautiful-even beautiful with her face just inches away.

"Look at people like you wanna undress them or something," she chuckled. Light and mellow. Like her eyes, her voice was a calm ocean wave, tempting to console anyone who would come across her. I blinked once again before letting out a laugh as well.

"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Even in the dim glow of the bar they glowed brightly, like her pupils were some type of smooth stone at the bottom of a clear blue ocean. Within her blue there flickered tiny speckles of silver, which gave her an icy, somewhat stony appeal. But it was her slight, lopsided smile that erased any signs of wanting to be alone. No wonder this bar was so popular. "Uh, no," I said, holding up the Help Wanted sign I had snagged from the front window. The woman's cool eyes flickered between the sign and me. She didn't say anything, only looked slightly thoughtful as slender fingers raked through her long blonde hair. "What can you do?" She finally asked, definitely not expecting me to be able to do much of anything at all. She'd be right. "Anything and everything," I answered-lied-instantly, hoping I didn't look too desperate, didn't sound too eager. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't worked a day in my life. My hands were used to weekly manicures not hard labor. But desperate times call for desperate measures. The blonde appeared thoughtful again. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing. "I have many skills," I added. Okay, so I stole that from Xena, but I was hoping it worked as well for me as it did for her. The blonde lifted a sculpted brow and the smile was, once again, back on her lips. She seemed amused. Maybe she was a Xena fan? "Alright... I'll start you off cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping the floors, doing the dishes..." Crap.

They met for the right reasons but at the wrong time. She was just about to graduate from college, and he was already a successful CEO/Businessman who is ten years her senior. A city love like no other. Enter the world of Alecx and Tristan, brought together by fate, only to be separated by unexpected circumstances. Will there be a second chance for them when they meet again 9 years later? A story about chasing dreams, friendship and love.... "A love story that will make you swoon. Definitely a fun, entertaining and feel-good read. " - A Reader's Comment Excerpts: 1) I saw her hug one of the guys in that department and kissed him on the cheek. I don't really deal a lot with our employees. I am mostly either inside my office or in the boardroom conducting meetings, so I do not even know who this guy she is smitten with. Just seeing her do that caused a twinge of jealousy inside me. I barely know this girl and yet, she is making me feel something I have not felt before. 2) I gave him a dagger look and tried to get away from his hold, but he did not let me. Instead, he put both his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. Our faces are just inches away from each other. He was looking at me intently. My heart is beating so fast. I feel like I am going to melt from his gaze. "I am just messing with you. I am sorry. Forget about what I said. Just dance with me. For old time's sake." He smiled at me. I continued to look him straight in the eyes. "Why did I ever leave this amazing man in front of me?" I asked myself regretfully. I set aside all my inhibitions and placed both my arms around his neck. Even just for tonight, I will enjoy this moment. I rested my head on his shoulder and nuzzled my face on his neck. I hope we can stay like this forever.

1960's, Bayou Lousiana. Times are different. We have a lot of trees, that of Cypress, maple and Tupelo. Not to mention a lot of swamps, and alligators in them. I lived in the town and so forth experienced growing up. As I got older, I experienced life for what it was and it wasn't until. That I got into womanhood that I engulfed myself with my friends and we hung out and always had fun. Dressed in our best dress, smoked our cigarettes, and flirted with and met different men. It wasn't, until then that under and forbidden circumstance did I and we meet two men. But, mainly, I met one. We could see, they had money and had come from and must have been to the our side of town. One in particular was very handsome, though they both were. Least, I was not interested. It was law. So, I left. Little did, I know, he had followed me, and brought me to his place. He asked and demanded of me, in which I could not give. This man was no man at all. He was not mortal. God knows what he was. He called me Human, when to me, he looked like a damn one himself. All I know, was I was his obsession, his desire. He must have been mistaken, I wasn't going to give him nothing.
