Two strangers, Ella and Maya, end up as roommates for their junior year of college. As their courseloads ramp up, so do their family issues-and their mutually secret crushes on one another.

Staying on Course is a story about two college students slowly falling in love with each other while dealing with all the stressors in their lives. Ella comes from a dysfunctional home, but has deep bonds with her sister that have withstood the tests of time. Maya, on the other hand, has a loving but traditional dad and a void left by her long-deceased mom. Maya rotates friend groups almost monthly, while Ella sticks it out with her small but toxic freshman-year groupies. Their coursework is individually stressing, especially with their conflicting styles of class preparation. It seems the two can't be any more different from each other, and yet, they can't help but collect feelings for their roommate that was far from what they expected.
