I would like to cite swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist: Everything in my book really happened, just in different way.
The story is about the plight of a fifteen-year-old boy in a correctional facility, where he got there in such a way that he himself does not know how and where he find himself surrounded by people, who awake inside of him tendencies, which he would like to kept hidden.
Although it will appear that way, it does not take place in Russia, Ukraine or Belarus, although most of the characters are Russian. I don't want to place it exactly in time either, but the clues and hints will be there. According to the signs, the reader can have an idea of the direction the poor boy's fate will take. I hope not that you will like it, but that it will interest you and maybe even force you to think about current and quite recent phenomena, prejudices (I'm not saying that you have them), stigmas and the past that many of us have in common.

However, his new friends turned to be fake, allowing Oskar to get beaten to death. Even though Aaron previously seemed to not care for Oskar, he was the only one who visited Oskar in the hospital every day. After spending the whole winter in hospital, Aaron finally comes out of the hospital and rejoins his friends in school. All eyes in school will be once again turned on a 15-years old boy. Is he ready to confront his fake friends who let him be beaten in a conspiracy. Will he graduate the junior high school having so many setbacks on his head? Will he forgive Aaron eventually? Alex, a lonely 17 year old with a heart problem and a lot of anxiety is hated by nearly everyone in his school. It was stupid, he knew that, but his anxiety and depression told him otherwise. Told him that he deserved to be hated, truly. He still longed for a friend though. He'd heard a rumor about some stupid party that any other time, he wouldn't be interested in. My Lovely Life - The Story of Ethan Bennett
I just wrote all of this and then I accidentally deleted it as well as the book cover. I'm somewhat infuriated atm. The book was written as I fell in love for the first time, while in the Swedish equivalent of High School so it should be one hell of a ride ;) It may need some updating and I'll get to that some day, but it's perfectly readable in the meantime. A lot of my friends have approved the book as well. It is dedicated to my former best friend Adam, whom also was my biggest fan I think. Anywhoo, the book is about a boy named Ethan Bennett, his best friends Matt and Diana, his half-brother Josh and their friend Sophie. Later you'll also be introduced to Isabelle May. It's a feel good story about a loving high school friend group. I think that's all I'm going to say... Happy reading :) Oh and also, my characters aren't going through anything extremely traumatic, but just like most teens nowadays they all have their struggles with life and mental health and so on.
