His participation spans over 25 National Championships orchestrated by the USGA and the Royal & Ancient, including appearances in three professional "Major Championships." Notably, he competed in the 2015 and 2019 United States Senior Open Championships and the 2017 British Senior Open Championship.

The year 2022 saw Roger engaging in the U.S. Senior Amateur at the Kittansett Club and the British Senior Amateur at Royal Dornoch Golf Club in Scotland, marking continued participation in high-caliber tournaments. Furthermore, he recently contributed to the United States team's triumph in The Bridges Cup held in South Korea. This bi-annual event features a face-off between top U.S. amateurs and an international counterpart, highlighting his role in fostering sportsmanship and golfing excellence.

Hoit's reputation as a formidable golfer is also echoed in his involvement in prestigious Amateur Invitational tournaments.
