He has two kids that are his world. His Alpha just sent him to another pack as part of a deal. There are now two men that want to be a part of his world. But can he choose between the man who seems to be a dream come true, and the man who took him from the only home his children knew?

Excerpt:
"It's nice to meet you sir." I say quietly. "Alpha I'm going to start work, did you need anything before I did?" I ask hoping I can get out of this room. I didn't know why they were talking about me but I was sure it wasn't good.
"Yes. I'm sure you recognized his name." Alpha says. I just nod in reply. Alpha Andrews was alpha of a nearby pack that had been wanting a treaty with us. A treaty covered a lot of things. It just depended on the two packs. A little fear tickled my brain. It was not unusual to give Omega's as part of a treaty. It was also not unusual to keep their kids when you sent the Omega to another pack.
"Your alpha and I have joined in a business venture with a pack angle. I have land I want to build on, he has the ability to actually build. With this venture we'll both gain a lot. But we want to make an agreement, you know that if a pack mates inside the lines too much they can eventually start inbreeding. We'll make a treaty of mating. A few years of that and the two packs will be stronger and with the build we'll be financially well off." I nod and swallow.
"Yes, I've heard of treaties like that."

This is a short story that takes place in the middle of "Orphan Wolf". It can be read independently but will have spoilers if you intend to read "Orphan Wolf"... I see the little 8 year old boy from last night run away crying, one of Ruby's cousins. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!" "He commanded that kid when he could have just talked to him! He is a bully with no patience!" "He is an Alpha!" She purrs with pride at his rank. I don't care! "I don't want him!" "The one you want isn't mate. He isn't yours. He isn't interested... I want mate!" "No." I block her out and climb down the tree.

I feel a couple more lashes between monologues. Suddenly I'm pushed to the ground with the ropes cut off. My hands behind my back, a gun to my forehead. I cry as the gun is pressed against my head. I look up at the alpha and his cold gaze locks mine. "Mate." I hear that one word despite all the pain. He hesitates before he drops the gun. "Alpha." The beta says shocked. "Take her away." The alpha growls looking at the gun in his hand. "Yes, sir."

Third book after Jaime, and Angelica. Angelica's sons are grown and they are meeting their mate. He had an idea, that was all. He wanted to help his people as a whole. He didn't think he'd be the first to try it out. His life was turned upside down, but maybe that was a good thing. But how does he cope with mates that are more wolf then man? It's hard to have a relationship when your mates don't talk much. (Told from Blake and Andrews mates point of view.) Excerpt: Okay, I admit that this was my idea but, I didn't think that Alpha would send me. Yes, pack exchange would help to freshen packs. Blood, minds, get packs that were stagnant and stuck decades in the past to move forward. I recommended enforcers, warriors and Omega's, positions that would do the most good. I was none of those. I was just a random beta with barely the wolf to keep my position and not fall down a rank. But my alpha said that the other packs were not so keen on doing it. So he was going to lead by example. All known packs were put into a database by the council and random generators paired packs to exchange people. Since alpha wanted to lead, we were first to get paired. We got paired with a pack across the country. My flight out had been uneventful thankfully. Most of my things had been shipped, I had two suitcases of things I was wheeling toward the exit of the airport. Supposedly this pack had sent someone to pick me up. I'm almost to the door when I hear my name called.

Ellie was a very protective big sister but at times like this when duty was the important thing, she was a pain in the butt. "I just wanted a minute to sit and relax. I've been standing there for hours." I see her take a breath and relax. "I know this isn't what you wanted, or easy on you at all but you understand why it's being done like this, don't you?"
