The year is 1964. The Kinks, a mostly unknown garage rock band seeking fame, has just put out their first hit, 'You Really Got Me.' Suddenly, they're landing gigs, interviews, and invites to glitzy parties left and right. The band is uncertain of their future and tensions are ever-rising within the band, but one fateful, exhilarating night changes everything.
