While in detention one day, they make a bet: who can complete the most dares by the end of the school year. Refusing or failing to do a dare results in disqualification. Winner receives an unbeatable reputation and one thousand dollars; losers provide the money. They attempt to keep the competition amongst themselves, but soon the whole school finds out and is taking sides, increasing the pressure.
