In which a feminist takes a thick skulled jock on an adventure of feminism.
~~~~~*****~~~~~~
Cathy is twenty and majoring in Psychology. She's sarcastic and likes to think that she's funny. She and her best friend Sarah, go to Deakin University and are both members of a feminist group "Queens Under Shadows".
Brian is a jock. Your typical football player. Who has no interest in anything, except for football, girls and partying, whatsoever.
What happens when Sarah, who's been secretly seeing Brian's cousin, Trevor, invites him to volunteer for the fifteen day long summer program her feminist group is holding?
That's where Brian and Cathy meet.
Because of compulsion, Brian and Cathy are forced to become partners and basically stick like glue to each other for the next fifteen days.
In their small town of West Roar, will Cathy finally be able to find love and happiness? Will Brian agree for commitment? Will she forgive her best friend for secretly seeing someone? Will Brian be able to handle Cathy's temper? Or will Cathy actually start believing that everything in this world is just a HELLO, GOODBYE?
A venture that will lead her down a path of self-discovery and unexpected love. *** When eighteen-year-old April Lewis' mom walks around like a zombie, evades all attempts to talk and controls her every move, April decides she's had enough. She leaves home one warm summer evening with nothing but a yellow backpack filled with her coveted dad's letters he's been sending her for the past months, and some bare necessities. She's determined to seek him out and go live with him down on the West Coast, where he has a temporary job. The last thing April expects is almost being hit by a car. The owner of the vehicle? Her classmate, Dave Rivera, a troubled boy whom she almost never talked to before, and who can't be more different than her. After making sure April is just a little banged-up, Dave strikes a deal with her: he'll help her get to the West Coast free of charge, as long as she doesn't report him to the cops. The two embark upon a road trip from NY to LA, navigating through stunning landscapes and meeting a colorful cast of characters. While sharing life stories and exchanging experiences, armed with the wisdom from her Dad's letters, April and Dave discover that they are a lot more alike than they originally thought. The journey slowly becomes more important than the destination, and their path takes an unexpected turn when a shocking secret comes to light. © 2024 EvelynHail Exclusively on Wattpad Based on prompt 4! "What would you do?" Daisy raised a brow and an amused smile quirked up with it. "You want me to make the choice for you? Given my track record, are you sure that's a good idea?" "Your track record is the perfect reason. You've been with your share. You have a better idea than I do as to this choice," she wiped the back of her hand under her eyes once more. "Do I choose the boy who broke my heart more than once. Or do I choose the man who has watched over me all these years?" "You already know your choice, Jazzy." Her friend's brow furrowed. "You called one a boy and attached it to a horrible moment in your life. The other you called a man and called him your protector. Now, if I were a third-party stranger and I heard you refer to each of them in the same manner, I would slap you silly and ask how there could even be a choice. So, answer me this. Why are you still trying to choose?" ***************************************************** All roads lead you home... The only road on Jasmine Meeker's mind takes her away from home. Jasmine has spent twenty-four years in the same do-nothing town. Friday nights had been spent at the high school football games, farming season meant slow traffic twice a year and driving twenty minutes to the nearest town for something better to do. Everywhere she looked it was the same thing just a new year. When her old high school flame strolls in to Dave's Diner asking for her to hear him out, she gets sucked back down a rabbit hole of memories; good and bad. Unwanted advice has her second guessing everything from the past not to mention her future. *COMPLETED* (6/15/19) #1 backroads (10/3/19) #1 backroads (11/18/19) #1 backroads (1/13/20) #1 backroads (9/11/20) #1 backroads ~~Look for it on social media:: #backroadsthenovel
