Hoop Dreams was a riveting movie that shed light on some of the social issues in America via a story on two young men trying to further their basketball careers and make it to the top, all the while trying to resurrect their family situation in a hostile environment. This story is a story of how I as a young boy saw this movie when viewing for the first time and how I comprehend the dynamics as an adult. This movie showed triumph, tragedy, pain, and perseverance.
Take this journey back in time with me and then fast forward to the present day of a story that pierces the innermost depths of the human soul and allows us to ponder the realms of struggle, persistence, despair, and hope.
