Every hundred years, a battle takes place. The four kingdoms come together to test their leadership skills, fighting for the crown that rules them all.
One girl from the Hiems (winter) district has chosen to join the military that fights for the crown, but only to please her family, who have carried on this tradition for thousands of years. She has been training for a few months now seeing as Evadne just joined the military. But for some reason the current leader, Blake, doesn't like her very much, and she has no idea why. Knowing that it will be harder for her to win the games since Blake doesn't like her, she has to try extra hard to win... for her family.
