Aizawa Shota didn't care for dating. Hand-holding. Cuddling.. And kissing another human being just gave him the ick. He liked time to himself and to indulge in his routine nightly activities - playing with his cat.
Fukukado Emi loved the thought of marriage. Hand-holding. Cuddling.. Thinking of kissing made her squeal in delight. She obsessed in her first year of high school over one person, that crush never seemed to cave. Instead, it got a lot bigger. Her tummy did a flip flop every time she saw him.
Aizawa had promised something to Fukukado. In return, Fukukado promised him something back.
He had wondered if he'd ever need to fulfill that promise, but as the days drew by to her 30th year on earth, he felt the dread crawl slowly into his mind. As for Fukukado, she couldn't wait to fulfill her end of the bargain.

Shota Aizawa had always been a lonely man, and he had come to accept that it would always be this way. He just wasn't a people person, let alone boyfriend material. He was Shota, a Pro Hero, a teacher, and that had to be enough. But when Eri asked him who he wanted to spend Valentine's Day with, a pang of longing hit his chest. There was only one person who came to mind: Mirage. He often partnered with them on night patrol, their beautiful purple hair cascading over their long black coat. When Shota closed his eyes, he could still smell their perfume. But never in a million years would he ask them out on a date. That would be unfair to both of them. He wasn't the man they deserved, and he didn't want to lose their friendship.
