"Maybe you just need someone to be there for you." I say looking up into his eyes. He chuckles and turns his head so my eyes can't meet his anymore. "I dont need anybody, Nia."

I gently put my hand on his cheek so his eyes could meet mine again.

"I thought that about myself too."

When successful and shy nurse Nia Monroe stumbles into powerful and cold mafia leader Alessio Armani, she believes that she wouldnt see him again only believing that hes just another disrespectful man in the streets after their first encounter.

What she doesnt realize is that he actually 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘴 the apartment building she lives in and has to stay there for a while because of a mission that hes working on.

Alessio Armani is ruthless and cold. He doesn't care about anybody but himself. Hes went through a tough past and it just keeps getting tougher through life. When he finds out that he has a mission in New York, he decides to stay in a expensive apartment building that he owns.

When Alessio stumbles into Nia Monroe, the shy nurse where his room is across from, he starts to wonder if he wouldnt mind having at least one person to care about.

As they keep crossing paths, Nia starts to wonder what makes Alessio so cold and ruthless but she also wonders if hes hiding something from his past from her and if thats the reason for it.

Could Nia find out Alessio's past or would he just brush her off like how he did to everyone else in his life?
