Heatwave and Quickshadow have just welcomed a son into the world. They are very happy they now have a child. However they are very concerned their son was born with complex heart defects and needs a lot of care. By the time Hot shot is five years old he has had 5 open heart surgeries and 6 cauterizations. He has had 11 procedures. He also has some good friends who also are regular visitors to heart center. Soon Hot shot's heart cannot take much more and he needs a new heart. Hot shot hopes to get a new heart soon. His friends also need new hearts too. Hot shot hopes to get a new heart soon. (Humanized)

Hot shot is born to Heatwave and Quickshadow. Hot shot is a little boy but he has heart defects. Hot shot is going to need a lot of care as he grows. Hot shot has several surgeries as other procedures as he grows but he is used to it. Hot shot knows it is important to take care of his heart. Hot shot has four friends his age who also have heart defects. Hot shot soon starts to have more problems with his heart at five years old. He is told by his cardiologist he needs a new heart. Which means Hot shot needs a heart transplant. Luckily Texas Children's hospital where he gets his heart care is some of the best doctors there to do the job. Hot shot finds out his friends need heart transplants too. Hot shot is hoping to get a new heart soon. (Humanized)

However soon Hot shot begins to feel unwell. He has a headache, he has nausea with vomiting, he is tired, he is cranky, he is walking funny, his is losing his coordination, he is falling down a lot, he is seeing two of everything, have weird eye movements, has a head tilt and a stiff neck. On the week before his fifth birthday Hot shot has to be taken to Cook Children's hospital. Hot shot has an MRI done and other tests done. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Medulloblastoma a type of brain tumor that is brain cancer. Hot shot is brave and ready to fight his cancer head on with his stuffed Rhino Roxy who he got as a present. Hot shot makes friends with four other kids his age with the same type of cancer. They decide to fight their cancer together and become the best of friends. They are determined to win too! (Humanized)

Hot shot starts to grow into a very happy and healthy five year old. Hot shot loves to run, jump, climb and play. However when in June, Hot shot starts to feel unwell. Hot shot has a horrible headache, he is vomiting, he is tired all the time and he is cranky. His parents take him to Cook Children's hospital ER because they are worried about him. Then Hot shot has something called an MRI. The MRI reveals Hot shot has a brain tumor the size of an apple. Hot shot gets some other tests done. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Choroid Plexus Carcinoma a type of brain cancer. Hot shot is going to be brave and fight his cancer. Hot shot soon makes friends with four other kids his age in the hospital with the same type of cancer. They decide to fight their cancer together. Hot shot is determined to kick cancer's butt! His parents are worried and they take him to his pediatrician. The doctor sends them to Cook Children's for an MRI. There Hot shot is diagnosed with a brain tumor. After a sample of the tumor is biopsied Hot shot is diagnosed with Medulloblastoma a type of brain cancer. Hot shot is brave and ready to face his cancer head on.
