The darkness is a powerful place.
Fear is its greatest ally.
Darkness is what controls those who do not understand how to handle it correctly.
Humans for one are the best example: naive, filled with fearfully false confidence and to put it bluntly; just plain stupid. The darkness is something they just could never fully comprehend. They let the darkness in and could not protect themselves from the dangers that were brought along with it. With the war 40 years ago, Vampires and Werewolves have made it abundantly clear who is on top of the food chain, and who are the ones living in the shadows.
However, for the humans that remain free from capture and the torment that comes with it; learning to always be one step ahead of the darkness may be their only means of survival.
When Zach and Luna's paths cross, it shines a whole new light on the whole thing.
