#1 in the London Universe series: Anaya Oberoi, a final-year student at a prestigious college in India, was thrilled to be selected for a student exchange at King's College London. But there was a catch-she had to live with foster parents. To her surprise, one of her housemates turned out to be Noah Carter, the college heartthrob known for his charm and heartbreaks. Anaya was determined to focus on her studies and avoid Noah's reputation. Yet, as they navigated daily life together, she saw beyond Noah's confident exterior. He wasn't just the popular guy; he had depth and vulnerabilities too. Despite her initial reluctance, Anaya found herself drawn to Noah's complexity. Their time together challenged both to reconsider their beliefs about relationships. Anaya wondered if she could help Noah change his ways or if she should guard her heart against potential hurt. Their journey together became a test of trust, friendship, and the power of understanding. . "Get out," I whispered again, looking into his deep brown eyes. His brows furrowed. "I can't leave you in this condition." A lone tear slipped from my eye. "You're the only person responsible for this condition." He swallowed hard and lay down beside me. "I said-" I tried to get up, but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his embrace again. His arms wrapped tightly around me. I stopped struggling. His warmth, his scent... after four years, I finally felt at peace. My face was buried in his chest. "Why aren't you leaving me?" I whispered. He looked down, his gaze intense. "Because I can't," he admitted. "I'm not able to." I bit my lip, my heart aching. ___________________________________ "You look beautiful," I said, tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. "Come up with something new. Half of your guests already used that line," she muttered. I stared into her kohl-lined eyes. "Is that so?" She hummed in response. "Then how about this-" I leaned close to her ear. "You look like mine," I whispered before pressing a soft kiss against her earlobe. She shuddered. I was about to trail kisses down her neck when she whispered, "I'm sleepy." I chuckled and pulled back. She strolled toward the staircase, taking slow steps, struggling with her four-inch pencil heels and the heavy saree. Will she ask for my help? Nope. I sighed and walked toward her. --- GRUMPY × SUNSHINE
