The other ships that were supposed to arrive never did. What had started as the first of many became the only ones. Domes were built to protect the people living there, since Mars could not be conquered as the early scientists had hoped. Kierst is one of the descendants of those early settlers and works on the interior of one the domes. His job gives him the solitude he prefers with both work and home.
