10 parts Ongoing MaturePurchasing-or stealing a Pregnancy test is something that Emmaleah Oakland denied her entire life, and certainly would've prevented. However, here she stood, anxiously pacing the floor of her tiled bathroom, adverting her gaze from the plastic stick on her bench, all because of a pill that said 99% accuracy. Apparently, this moment was that 1%
Her timer goes off, alerting her the time was up. She glances at the test.
The two pink lines could mean anything. Maybe she had blood cancer. That would be a somewhat easier conversation-maybe something she could face head on.
But she'd heard of plenty horror stories where these things were wrong, a false positive isn't something she needs. People think she's nuts already, rumours going around that she's convinced that she's pregnant when she's really not would just knock the last bottle off of the looney bin shelf.
So she took another, and another, and another until she'd tried every test, colour, symbol, and brand on the shelf of the chemist she'd stolen them from.
All with the same result. From a digital 'yes' to a happy smiley face. This wasn't something to smile about. She was pregnant, and no matter the denial and confusion she felt, nothing would change that.
Damn that blonde boy. Damn him and his obnoxious smirk. Damn him and his good looks and bad boy attitude that got her into this mess. But she couldn't blame him, not when it was the both of them, after all it takes two to tango. Not when JJ wasn't even sure of the consequences of the night by the bonfire. That night started their entire journey.
But there was only one thing for certain.
Emileah Oakland was pregnant and if that's not enough, she was pregnant with JJ Maybanks Baby.
