My darkest novel yet... "The clock ticks, time stops. And then..." This novel takes a deep dive into what the world would have been like if the (now switched) sides of the Great War-Germany, the Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria, and Austria-Hungary-had fought the now central powers such as the United States, Great Britain, Imperial Russia, France, Italy, and Japan. As the battles hit hard and heavy, major casualties were reported in mass amounts, disease ran rampant across the trench country, and psychological and biological warfare was implemented. Adieu. The One Who Stole the Sky
*COMPLETED* "Liesel, what's the matter?" Max's concern was that of a mother's, so flat, but so serious. "Max, there is no one to thank left." Liesel changed her view to peer at the dusty floor. She missed Max's countenance gaping mouth and large eyes afflicted by her words. Not only had Max stolen the sky, he stole Liesel's heart too. Now, in Post-WWII Germany, the Allies have brought relief. Life is just beginning to come out of hiding, ready to blossom and flourish as it once did before. No one no longer cowers in fear. But something stirs in Russia: Communism. How will a Jew and innocent German girl make it safely in this ever-changing world that is right out their door? NOTE: This is after The Book Thief story (sequel if you will), so there are some spoilers if you haven't seen/read anything about it. Outside of Russia, the world was at war with itself. After Archduke Ferdinand's assassination, Europe was plunged into turmoil. Everything was going insane. I wasn't alone in the familial sense. Although my mother died giving birth to my younger sister, Natalia, and my father was one of the ones killed in Petrograd, I still had my sisters. Katyushka was my older sister. She treated me with a maternal gentleness; in fact, it was she who made my scarf, which I still wear to this day. Natalia was my younger sister. She was very attached to me, and some might've called it obsessive, but I didn't blame her. When she was three, I had fallen very ill, and I almost didn't make it. Katyushka soon got over my near death, but since Natalia was so young, her mind never fully recovered. But even with my sisters, I was still alone. I was always trying to find some way for us to scrape by, which led me to spend most of my waking hours away from home. I had very few friends, and the friendships I had were shaky, at best.
