It's almost summer in Macon, Georgia and Belle, a feisty 17 year old, is ready to spend all of her free time with her friends. She thinks that she will be doing all of the chores by herself on her family's farm, but that all changes when a boy comes to town. Drake, a yankee from New Jersey, has been hired by Belle's father to be a ranch hand all summer. He has good looks and a smart mouth that drives Belle insane. Even more insane than she has been since her boyfriend, Easton, was killed in a car wreck with a drunk driver. Will Belle and Drake be able to work out their differences or will Belle's summer turn into the worst one yet?
