((Completed)) I stay on the floor. I sit staring at the bedroom door for hours, seething with anger at myself. The more I think the angrier I get. I know anger won't get me anywhere, especially here, except maybe dead. Still, I sit enraged. The whole house is silent. It's probaby the most quiet it's ever been. Normally it would soothe me, but the fact I had been sitting here almost all day now turned the quiet afternoon silence into fuel for my fire. I look over at Jade who had barely moved at all. I wish I could protect her. She came back for me even though I told her not to. There's not realy anything I can do though. Maybe I could make some kind of deal? No. That's what got us here in the first place. Then again it really can't get much worse. I have to try something or else I don't know what will happen to her. I mean she's the toughest person I know. Everyone has a breaking point and I don't want to see her get to that place. I'm already the worst friend ever, all I do is make things worse. I stare at the wall and pace the room for a few more hours. When's he getting back? There is a new man who started coming in to Talia's work and kept asking her out, she started to get creeped out by the guy when he wouldn't leave her alone. Ryker happened to be in the coffee and witnessed the man harassing Talia and asked the guy to leave her alone that she was his fiance. She was shocked but went a long with it, the man started stalking her, to keep her safe and figure out if he was connected to her parents murder he asked her to move in with him. While he posed as her fiance, he tried showing her the world and tried to get her to fall in love with him. Will it work? Or will she leave once they find out who the killer is? I ran downstairs into the living room, my heart pounding as I found all my brothers gathered around Nefeli. Her eyes were frantic, scanning the room, desperately searching for me. The scream that bastard had let out earlier must have reached her... The moment our eyes met, she practically threw herself at me, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I could barely breathe. I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do. I hugged her back anyway... Even though I had no idea what was going on. "Thank God you're safe" she murmured in my ear, her voice trembling, leaving me even more confused. I glanced at my brothers. They all looked just as lost as I was. Except for Aiden and Alex. They were motioning for me to hold on. "Of course I'm okay, Nefeli. What happened?" I asked, my heart tightening. I hated seeing her like this, so worried and panicked. "I-I heard Alex and Aiden talking in Italian!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic. "They said something about the Mafia! Are we being threatened by the Mafia?" Her voice cracked, and tears threatened to spill from her brown eyes. The room fell silent for a moment. My brothers exchanged looks, and then, without warning, we all burst into laughter. Nefeli stared at us, completely confused. Cole, finally calming down, wiped his eyes and looked at her with a smile. Her dream night turns into a nightmare when Jack is murdered right in front of her, and she’s kidnapped by his murderer, Carter Thomas, a big time drug and arms dealer. After ten months of being with Carter, she’s found, but the experience has totally changed her. She’s no longer the happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love; she’s now cold, hard and suffers from night terrors. It appears that Carter broke not only her body, but her spirit too.
