Books are harmless. They bring us safety, happiness... and escape. What if what was once your escape from reality switched you with a character on the book. Everything you know is turned upside down, and somehow, your family is there too. People who you have known in your past start popping up out of nowhere. Yet every single person has lived in this story their entire lives.

This happened to Elliza. She was sixteen when the book stole her away. It's been three years with no hope of escape. Every wish, every plan vanished as she is faced with new challenges of adulthood...in this strange world. What happens when she is forced to move again with the siblings she barely understands. To a college full of people she used to know. And those who knew her counterpart three years prior.

I ran downstairs into the living room, my heart pounding as I found all my brothers gathered around Nefeli. Her eyes were frantic, scanning the room, desperately searching for me. The scream that bastard had let out earlier must have reached her... The moment our eyes met, she practically threw herself at me, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I could barely breathe. I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do. I hugged her back anyway... Even though I had no idea what was going on. "Thank God you're safe" she murmured in my ear, her voice trembling, leaving me even more confused. I glanced at my brothers. They all looked just as lost as I was. Except for Aiden and Alex. They were motioning for me to hold on. "Of course I'm okay, Nefeli. What happened?" I asked, my heart tightening. I hated seeing her like this, so worried and panicked. "I-I heard Alex and Aiden talking in Italian!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic. "They said something about the Mafia! Are we being threatened by the Mafia?" Her voice cracked, and tears threatened to spill from her brown eyes. The room fell silent for a moment. My brothers exchanged looks, and then, without warning, we all burst into laughter. Nefeli stared at us, completely confused. Cole, finally calming down, wiped his eyes and looked at her with a smile. "Love" he said, his voice smooth, "we're not being threatened by the Mafia." he let the words settle in the air for a second. "We are the Mafia." • • • _______________________________________________________ ⚠️ DISCLAIMER ⚠️ Mentions of abuse, violence, harsh language, bad mental health, and light depression! Have you ever had one of those terrible yet annoyingly pivotal moments? You know, that monumental fragment of time that flips everything you have ever known. That plot twist second that completely takes you by surprise. The one just before the storm hits and everything goes to hell. Yes? Because you see, that moment happens to be my whole damn life. It wasn't always like this though. I used to have a pretty mundane existence, happy to just get good grades and be around my friends. God I wish I could get that simplicity back, I'd never complain it was boring again. But I know I'm not going to ever get back my old life because well... I died. (Kinda) But I woke up. And I was thrilled, beyond grateful I wasn't dead. But then I realized that there was one minor detail that had changed about my reality. I was given the chance to live but it turns out I woke up as the villainess in an otome game my friend used to be obsessed with - Kingdom of freaking Hearts (I added the freaking in there for effect, it's just Kingdom of Hearts) Where, for the record, the villainess only has two possible endings 1) execution and 2) getting exiled. So Fate was like, "Don't worry, I'll save you. Here's a chance to live" and then was like "psyche, screw you. You're still going to die but I'll let you suffer a little first." So now, if only to annoy Fate by proving it wrong, I am determined to survive. I can and I will if I play by these simple rules: 1) Befriend Heroin 2) Avoid Aryn Edwards at All Costs as well as other capture targets And 3) Be the top student at the academy and become an invaluable asset to my Kingdom so I become indispensable, thus unkillable. I'm determined, stubborn, persistent and I will live passed 16. Fate made a big mistake setting me up to die. Since it threw this plot twist at me, I figure I'll return the favor. I'll be the biggest plot twist Fate never saw coming...

This is a #TeenFictionAnotherYearShortStory entry. --- Believe me, when adulting takes place, you forget your naïve little side instantly and are ready to fit yourself in the big boots. But let's say, it's too soon for Olivia Dee. For her, graduation was a ceremony, a consummation of all the misery and guilt she had had to bear, of which none whispered-and she finally had the chance to leave it all behind. But the world's twisted, right? What if...I say, she has to relive all her past memories--that nasty first kiss, to be labelled a troublemaker, to be accused of things she could never imagine ever doing? Sadly, this is not her decision to make. A day after her graduation, she wakes up to face her senior year again. She knows that she had completed her education, she spends hours yelling about it on everyone's face. But at the end, she has to go to college again with one question--how does she even return back in time? But this time, all she has to do is grapple with a recurring dream, try to eliminate all the dark spots in her senior year and find out the reason of this travel back in time. Yet one thing's for sure, she hasn't travelled back in time. I give you my word. I know. There are numerous black-outs, sudden falls, chills, drama and a whole different system of cheating, drugs, revenge and a famous Queen sister, who is, mysteriously, now not famous at all. Watch her swim and drown, as she struggles between her reality and to keep up with her past struggles again, literally. Meanwhile, there's one context she never understands: Death undoes anything. *** Credit to @cattown_graphics She is a real darling, and managed to present me this cover at a very short notice. I'm so grateful!

****This is book three in the Royally Series. You MUST read book one (Royally Sheltered) and book two (Royally Uncovered) FIRST before reading this. Spoilers will be in this description.**** After the tragic death of her sister, Catherine Carter is seeking revenge. Newly engaged to the Prince and heir to the throne of Alumbridge, she's ready to steal the crown and take over as ruler of the country. However, that comes with a few setbacks. While her prince is technically heir to the throne, the only way for them to accomplish nearly everything they want to is to eliminate members of the monarchy who would rebel against them and their agenda permanently. Which of course, is Catherine's new objective even if that wasn't the case. Catherine, once against violence, holds no mercy for those in power anymore. Not after Charlotte. So it's simple: Start a rebellion, murder a few people, and take the kingdom.... right? Well, not really. After the events of the last book, Catherine's group is in shambles. Almost everyone is at odds with each other, and other people in Catherine's life aren't making this transition period easy. Without a unified group, this rebellion goes nowhere, and Catherine knows this. In order to get anywhere near the crown she needs to unify her group, get her message out there to others, somehow train her and the group well enough to withstand battle, somehow help her prince step into the role he was born for, deal with familial conflicts, and of course somehow find a way to hold everything together despite being in the deepest stages of grief. Catherine is at a very sticky point. She either has to rise to the occasion and her title or end up meeting the same fate as her sister.
