Mike Torino is a hard working family man, semi-oblivious to the ladies that constantly seem to throw themselves at him. Tasked by his bosses at Creative Capital with finding a location for a hotel based around the Tuscany-Italian-romance experience seen in movies, Mike heads to a small Tuscan town called Poggibonsi. He’s allowed to take his wife and daughter for two weeks of working vacation before meeting his Italian counterparts to hammer out the deal. Meanwhile, a young up and comer back home has had some early success and the Mike feels any slip up might cost him a looming partnership. The family discovers the differences between cultures (bidets, tiny showers, constant cigarette smoking) and enjoys the landmarks (pantheon, leaning tower, coliseum) while Mike spends his evenings diligently working via phone, text, and email with his witty American assistant. When his wife and daughter leave, he meets the young, beautiful, and smart Julietta – his Italian assistant whose local family connections can help Mike’s business deal. But now the tables are turned as Julietta’s eager-to-please attitude and constant attentiveness are mistaken for flirting – or are her intentions something more? Their long hours together become a distraction that gets into Mike’s head, sending his project, career, and marriage hilariously out of control.
