The return of the beloved Princess Luna also saw the return of the thestral ponies, who were able to assist the battered Equestrian forces with the Changeling invasion in western Equestria and turned the tide of the conflict. However, the Changeling Queendom has shifted its focus elsewhere... a full-scale surprise attack on Equestria's northern neighbors: The Crystal Empire and the Kingdom of Yakyakistan.

With the fighting at home stabilized, it now falls to the newly promoted Captain (Y/N) (L/N) to spearhead Equestria's reactionary assault to halt the enemy advance in the Frozen Norths... lest the powers of the Crystal Heart fall into the wrong hands and spell certain doom for the crystal ponies and Equestria altogether.
