Indian state head Narendra Modi said on Thursday his administration is focused on the government assistance of ranchers and is determined to make them business people and exporters, in the midst of a dissent by huge number of ranchers looking for greater costs for their produce.

Modi's remarks on ranchers were his first since the fights started last week and come a long time before broad decisions in which he is looking for an uncommon third term.
