Ten years ago, the Hour of Joy turned a toy factory into a nightmare.
The Critters, once cheerful mascots meant to comfort children, weren't killed by Catnap - they were spared. The Prototype saw value in them. Twisting their minds, he turned them into loyal disciples of his growing cult. All except one. Labeled a heretic, he was cast out... and the others were made to forget him.
There was only one human child to survive the Hour of Joy. Ten years have passed, but the trauma never left him- the smiling faces, the screams, the ones you couldn't save. Life moved on. He didn't.
Then one day, a mysterious letter arrives. A chance to return. A chance to end it. A chance to bury your demons once and for all.
But when memories come back to life... so do the monsters.

Dogday x GN reader you were a worker, specifically you watched the orphans meaning you didn't have much insight as to what happened within the walls of your workplace. after getting a job oppurtunity you leave your job luckily before the "hour of joy" takes place (you dont know this had happened). seeing that your old workplace had been abandoned you check it out once more maybe you'll find something? whatever you were hoping for in this journy it isn't what you had expected. ----- story will start with chapter 3 opening!! past chapters had already been events in the story. dogday was also a worker before being turned into a toy (an event you didnt know about also) to help out with kids. you remeber him and the other Smilying Critters when they came to help with children.(this is how you'll remeber dogday). ----- Dogday is an adult in this book as for the theories he was once an employee and for his voice in the game being one of an adult male: IF later on in the PPT franchise its revealed dogday is indeed a child i will take this book down and NEVER mention it again. Smiling Critters: A Turn To The Story.
During The Hour Of Joy, DogDay finds himself trapped in a real nightmare; being imprisoned by CatNap and tortured for years. He never knew what became of his friends. He never knew if they really died, as CatNap told him numerous times during his torture, or if they managed to escape his clutches. DogDay believes his destiny is already written; He was going to die there, immersed in the uncertainty and pain of torture, unable to escape that hell where he was placed by the friend he respected the most. Everything will be solved with the arrival of a savior. Some angels who came from heaven and that will change the story we all know. (NOTES) -This story is just an alternate version of the true story. It includes my own theories, too. If there's any disagreement, you can argue it as long as it is respectful. -I do not support any type of ships in this fanfic, since the relationships between the characters are rather different types of friendship, enemies, or maybe platonic feelings. Dog Toy: A Poppy Playtime Fanfic
The first thing you notice is the torso with the bloodied, fleshy severance. Then the strung-up arms. Then the hanging head of something, someone, that looks so familiar.
