((A Selection Story; Idea Credit to Kiera Cass, Writer of The Selection Series)) Freedom is a gift, and it’s one that Katelynn James valued above all others. Growing up and living on a farm surrounded by vast fields was about as much freedom as a four could get, and Katelynn was thankful that it was the life she was given. She had no intentions of changing the way she lived, and nobody could blame her. Then one day a small white envelope arrived in the mail. Even though she was forced to enter by her parents, Katelynn had no intentions of actually being selected. While most girls her age were doing everything they could to become a Lady, she was doing the opposite. She didn't want to go to the palace, didn't want to meet the prince and certainly did not want to be a part of the Selection. All she wanted was to stay on her small farm that she called home. The thing is, we don’t always get what we want.

In some weird alternate-universe thingy, 35 different girls were picked for Prince Maxon Schreave's Selection. Columbia was the only place Hannah could imagine staying, but when she decided to enter the Selection, she was whisked away to the beautiful province and capital of Illéa, Angeles, to experience the biggest competition and emotional rollercoaster of her life.
