((A Selection Story; Idea Credit to Kiera Cass, Writer of The Selection Series)) Freedom is a gift, and it’s one that Katelynn James valued above all others. Growing up and living on a farm surrounded by vast fields was about as much freedom as a four could get, and Katelynn was thankful that it was the life she was given. She had no intentions of changing the way she lived, and nobody could blame her. Then one day a small white envelope arrived in the mail. Even though she was forced to enter by her parents, Katelynn had no intentions of actually being selected. While most girls her age were doing everything they could to become a Lady, she was doing the opposite. She didn't want to go to the palace, didn't want to meet the prince and certainly did not want to be a part of the Selection. All she wanted was to stay on her small farm that she called home. The thing is, we don’t always get what we want.

Fae Dick thought when the Selection of Prince Asher was announced that she should enter. She knew her family wouldn't be too thrilled at the prospect, but Fae was always known to do things spontaneously, and she was looking to get more out of her antique appraisaled, auctioneer, career driven life. She wasn't sure what it was, but entering the Selection was a gut decision she knew she couldn't pass up. And so she entered. And got in. She didn't know what to expect when she arrived. With everything she knew about the royal family, she knew it could never prepare her for real life interactions with them, especially not Prince Asher. She knew she had set her hopes up too high when she thought of him, especially when she found out he was an arrogant jerk who treated her with polite coldness upon their first meeting. As the Selection continued on, there were more questions Fae found herself asking about the Prince, things not even the whole of Illéa knew about him, making her even question her decision to enter. But she knew she entered for a chance at something else, and a cold-hearted, mysterious prince wasn't going to take that away from her. based on the series "The Selection" by Kiera Cass
