Freedom is a gift, and it’s one that Katelynn James valued above all others. Growing up and living on a farm surrounded by vast fields was about as much freedom as a four could get, and Katelynn was thankful that it was the life she was given. She had no intentions of changing the way she lived, and nobody could blame her.
Then one day a small white envelope arrived in the mail. Even though she was forced to enter by her parents, Katelynn had no intentions of actually being selected. While most girls her age were doing everything they could to become a Lady, she was doing the opposite. She didn't want to go to the palace, didn't want to meet the prince and certainly did not want to be a part of the Selection. All she wanted was to stay on her small farm that she called home.
The thing is, we don’t always get what we want.

Previously known as 'my selection' in the books it's maxons selection but what if it was the other way around? in this story, it's America's selection. (ik in the heir it's said eadlyn had the first girl selection but I'mma change that and alot of things so just know I'll break some rules from the books) America's parents didn't want to marry off her to get allegiance but they think she should be a queen. so when she turns 17 they suggest the idea of a selection for her. maxon is a five and a photographer. he's has always thought that the princess was really beautiful with her icy blue eyes and red hair like roses and honey and the sun. Fae Dick thought when the Selection of Prince Asher was announced that she should enter.
