DogDay is a Smiling Critter, a child who was turned into a monstrous toy by the notorious Bigger Bodies Initiative. 
He and his fellow Critters are trapped in Playcare, where they are forced to entertain the kids who visit, while hiding their true nature. 
DogDay's only hope is to find Poppy, who has been locked away by Elliot Ludwig to be his ultimate creation. 
He decides to escape from the Playcare, and embark on a perilous journey to rescue Poppy, before it's too late.

Dogday, and the other critters, however, disagree with his beliefs. The cat punished them according. Dogday in particular took the brunt of said punishment, as Catnap nearly manages to kill him. Until something mysterious happens once Catnap uses his signature poppy gas. He finds himself falling unconcious to the poppy gas himself, as Dogday wakes up in a new, yet familiar world.
