The 6 year old girl looked out of window of the old forester. The day was melancholy, gray sky, a light drizzle and an ice cold wind chill. As she watched the rain drops get bigger on the glass the more intense her sadness grew.Her parents were arguing in the front,mom had always told her "when daddy's face starts getting red I want you to close your eyes,put your hands over your ears,and sing a little song baby,okay?" Her mothers quick paced worried voice lingered in the back of her mind. As her fathers belittling yells at her mother grew louder, she did as mommy said. She could hear the raw anger coming out of her father "You stupid bitch! I should have never married you!" This is the first time she had ever witness her father strike her mother. The yelling stopped and her father said calmly "Shut the fuck up. I don't wanna hear another word out of you." The stifled sobs of her mom carried into the back of the car, as if it was the most beautifully tragic piece of music ever composed

That was all I needed to hear, and I was thrilled. Without making noise, I danced around my room and repeatedly thanked him.
