Severus Snape survived the war to everyone's surprise. He remained the Headmaster of Hogwarts with Minerva's help and offered for every 7th year to repeat their year if they wanted. If not, they were to graduate anyway. Neville, Luna, Draco, and Hermione went back while Harry and Ron decided to go into the Auror world.

Hermione and Ron were doing okay as a couple however Ron doesn't like the fact that Hermione is so close to Snape. As Head Girl, she comes up with a new program to help out the teachers. 7th years are to teach one class a week for the younger students so the teachers could have an extra break. The new program forces Headmaster Snape and Hermione to work in close quarters for the year.
