Astrid Greene had been a fairly typical teenage girl; attending high school, playing sports, and nightly family dinners. That all changed when a cloaked being slaughtered her parents in front of her at just fifteen. Instead of finishing high school she was taken by a bitter and merciless supernatural hunter who uses nefarious methods to keep Astrid under her control-forcing her to become a lethal hunter against the supernatural beings that lurk in the shadows of their world.

Six years after her parent's deaths she encounters Silas Blackwood, a two-hundred and twenty-six year old vampire with a dark past of his own. A meeting that has the ability to vastly alter the trajectory of her life, to shift the tide back in her favor. Although Silas is harboring secrets from Astrid, one secret that has unbeknownst to her revised her life's path from the second they met.
