Maeve Anderson had a perfect life. She was popular, rich, beautiful, and one of the top cheerleaders at her school. She could get any guy she wanted--and did--not caring to keep them for longer than one night. Her life really couldn't get any better than this; at least, that's what she thought.

When Maeve has to team up with the Luke Flemming, the school's playboy, for their school's annual homecoming events, she knew she was in for a trip. He was a narcissistic football player who toyed with girls' hearts just as easily as Maeve could make a boy fall under her spell. While they played in the same field, Maeve's approach to life was nothing like Luke's. She always saw them as too different to really get along but, after a few weeks of finally deciding to make a truce, Maeve realizes they may be more alike than she thinks.

The pair go from decorating posters to hanging out unexpectedly and suddenly, it feels like all that Maeve had before wasn't all it was cut out to be. The only thing left is for her to believe it's real, but can she, when she's never known this feeling in all her life?
