Papaya, white lights & Red Bull

It all started in 2011 when Max and Joe were racing in go-karts against each other. Joe was only 11, Max was almost 14, it made the fact that Max lost against Joe even worse.

Max's dad isn't the type of guy to just tell you „it'll be fine." „You'll just do better next time."
Jos is the type of dad to scream at you for failing, to never be proud of you. He's not physically abusing Max, but he's pressuring and abusing Max's mental health.
Max can't remember when it exactly started but it was around the time his parents got divorced. Max's life isn't perfect. He knows. Everyone knows.

When Joe won against Max in that one race, his dad dropped him off at a gas station. Alone. At night. In a different country. Max didn't quite understand at first, but as soon as he realized his dad wasn't coming back soon, he just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. He sat on the cold ground in front of the gas station when a black Mercedes pulled up and Joe jumped out of the car.

It changed their relationship, not into something positive. Joe was mean and arrogant, a fucking rich son of a bitch. Max didn't like him before aswell, but that night made everything a thousand times worse.

He basically forgot about Joe when Max started racing in Formula 1. He lived his life and enjoyed it, even though he wasn't quite social on the grid, but daniel helped him a lot. Daniel's struggling with his mental health a lot, but yet he's there for Max and lightens up everyone's day on the grid. Max can't wait to pay everything back to Daniel, he deserves the world in Max's opinion.

But his anxiety and anger boiled up again as soon as Joe joined the grid in 2019. He still had that arrogant brighter than the sun smirk, the tall and lean figure which Max always wished he had. The almost disney-prince-like face which annoys the shit out of max, it's almost impossible to look like that. Not even George Russell can compete with him.

And that's when Joe and Max's Relationship continued.
