The pair became totally dependent on one another, often blurring the boundaries between parent/child & best friends. Even after Hopper took in young El & joined families with Joyce, (Y/N) remained at the centre of his universe - his whole heart & soul. Hopper held his daughter in high regard, treating her like she was a princess & always wanted what was best for her - even if she didn't agree with him. After years of being the model obedient daughter, (Y/N) longed to be just like everybody else in school but would struggle to find anybody willing to treat her as anything other than the police chiefs daughter at fear of the wrath of her terrifying father. By 19 her toxic rebellion had taken over. Drinking, parties & late nights became the new normal & her obsession with cutting class to smoke on school grounds, found her held back in school & forced to repeat her senior year. She'd even found herself her dream boyfriend... Billy Hargrove. A relationship formed by circumstance and misadventure ended up being everything she ever wanted... until it wasn't. Hawkins saw Billy as the handsome gentleman he'd made himself out to be & only Hopper & Eddie Munson knew what he was really like. He was possessive & controlling & just a total jerk.
