Doing so is laughable. Aziraphale would never! Except that he has... five times now. Every time when he was around the demon Crowley. Why on God's green Earth would a demon make an angel feel so strongly that he would perform accidental miracles? "Cause you're here", he says, voice carefully detached, "and you're hurt, and you need someone. And that someone's gotta be me." "Why?" He won't answer that. He can't answer that. "Don't ask stupid questions." ~oOo~ Or, the one where Heaven punishes Aziraphale the only way they know how, Crowley is there to help pick up the pieces, and maybe they can build something new and much more beautiful from both their broken shards. "S'just gotta look like we are, yeah? No one's gonna suspect a thing. Just helping each other out to stay undercover." Yes. Right. Stay undercover. Aziraphale really needed to focus. ~oOo~ Or, the one where they participate in an orgy in Ancient Greece, because what else is there to do but fuck your supposed enemy in order to keep up covers?

Stupid. Cruel. Those hadn't been the words sitting at the tip of his tongue. Far from it. But it didn't matter.
