Her eyes were the first thing I noticed. I thought they looked like eyes that deserved to be painted, every detail captured. They warranted being made immortal and deserved to be showcased at the most famous of museums.

That one person who would be my brightness in the dullest of days (trust me, there were a lot) just by gracing me with his presence. The frown that was permanently etched on my face would always seemingly dissipate into the happiness I felt when we'd meet up, running into his arms like he was my safe place. Everyone expected him to have someone, but no one thought it'd be me. No one wanted it to be me. Looking back on it now, it seemed like a typical love story. Him, the kind and gentle-hearted boy and I, the rude and cold-hearted girl. He wasn't kind, he wasn't gentle-hearted because if he was, then he wouldn't have left. Without a word. His eyes had started to see me differently. That desire I saw on his eyes on the lift scared me a bit though. I never noticed the blackness of his eyes. Black is a rare color. He had the rare colored eye which shone at moments like when we kissed. And it was starting to drown me in them. But when my head processed to what I was getting into, I pushed him away. Black means danger. It signifies negative connotations. Death. Mystery. Darkness is black. I fear the darkness. Daylight brings life. Black is death. But my thoughts changed the next moment. The shine on his eyes forced me not to see this part. After Darkness daylight peeks from my window. After each nightly the hope of best next day. The story about us
This story is based on my real-life experiences, though I must admit - I'm not entirely sure how real-life stories are usually written. Since this is my first novel, I'm still exploring how much one is allowed to modify the truth while telling their own story. The journey begins from my school days and continues through my college life - the phase where it all began, and eventually, where the love story seemed to fade. Will this story have a happy ending?
