Neeka started the bike but stopped. She turned towards Zoya and Zoya realized that she had been holding the bottom of Neeka's jacket scrunched in her fist.
"I'm sorry."
"Zoya." She couldn't meet Neeka's eyes. They were too intense. "Tell me, Zoya."
When she finally looked at Neeka, she said the first thing on her mind.
"I'm everything." Just as the words came out of her mouth, she couldn't feel more stupid.
"You did seem to be quite a big deal back there, yes." Neeka was patient.
"But then why do I not feel like it?" Zoya hated how fragile her voice sounded. It sounded so weak, and pathetic. But as she looked at Neeka, she didn't feel as small.
Her body became stiff as Neeka got off the bike. After second of contemplation, she hugged Zoya.
Everything in Zoya hurt. From her heart to her stomach. But she hugged Neeka back. Nuzzling her face into Neeka's neck as Neeka's hands tightened around her waist.
"You, Zoya Varela are everything."
Neeka said it like she believed it. She said it till Zoya believed it too.
