One of the criminals stooped down as two other men held down the detective, his sour breath caressing his face. "You were always a persistent dog, refusing to let go once you had your damn jaws on your prey. Now, it's time we put this puppy to sleep."

With that, the man stood up, letting out a grunt, which translated as a signal to the others. Another man took the hint, rushed to the van, and ran back to the first criminal, dropping something heavy into his calloused hands. An ax.

Lifting the ax over the detective's head, the executioner gave a mocking smile before slamming the ax right over the man's neck.

"Goodbye, detective.

┈┈┈

The detective's eyes shoot open at once, sitting up as though he had woken up from a nightmare, body drenched in sweat, an odd pain in his neck. He was... alive?

Why am I here? What happened to me?

"Welcome to hell, Mr. Baek-Hyun. I've been expecting you."
