Bratty and irreverent Hailey Anderson is forced to pet sit for a couple that has become desperate to spend time away. The dog, a needy Maltese named Benny who acts out when left alone, becomes the bane of Hailey's existence.
It is the last thing she feels like wasting her time with in the summer before her first year of college, but her parents are convinced it is an excellent opportunity to teach their daughter what it means to be responsible and mature.
Unfortunately, the plan backfires when Hailey takes a liking to this perfect house, and perfect husband.
