Mature
Rhea Alcot, originally Lysander, had been betrothed to Issac Alcot since she was 7 years old, and had lived with them since she was 8. She knew why the family had such a bad reputation in the eyes of the other elite. Their dealings had almost always involved some illegal activities, some more gruesome than others, and they always seemed to avoid any serious consequences in dealing with the law. They were rich, powerful and ruthless. Her husband, Isaac Alcot, was cold, calculating and extremely narcissistic with a penchant for sadism. Rhea feared and hated him more than anyone she had ever known. If she ran, Issac would surely kill her, and to avoid beatings she would have to be a model wife, in and out of the house. Rhea's mother left a recording detailing the events that took place before both she and her husband were consumed in a house fire, revealing disturbing details of how her betrothal came to be. Would this be enough to free her from the binds of marriage in an elite society? Would she escape the death grip Issac and the rest of the Alcot family had on her?
